However, Fukushima is having a bigger impact than just the West coast of North America. Scientists are now saying that the Pacific Ocean is already radioactive and is currently at least 5-10 times more radioactive than when the US government dropped numerous nuclear bombs in the Pacific during and after World War II. If we don’t start talking about Fukushima soon, we could all be in for a very unpleasant surprise.”
 
This information convinces us once again that the most urgent task for Japan is to consecrate maximum efforts to bring Fukushima under control.Fukushima cannot be brought under control by Japan alone. I continue to send messages to some world top leaders with a view to convincing them that Fukushima is a global environment issue.
 
The construction of a sarcophagus is urgently needed. An underground wall to stop the flow of undergroud water should be built as soon as possible at the site to prevent contaminated water from reaching the sea. The enormous spending of the Tokyo Olympic Games 2020 should be diverted to these crucial undertakings.
 
The advice of Former Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama to abandon the Toyosu fish market and decide on the honorable retreat from the Tokyo Olympic 2020 is proving wise and realistic. Its supporters are definitely increasing. It gives top priority to life, and not to economy.

Some of the Original People of Turtle Island had a Peacemaker Story and culture based on the Peace Principles. Many tribes lived for 1000s of years in North America with a wide variety of traditions & cultural models. We will explore teachings from the tribes with a Peacemaker Story, specifically the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) Nation of Upstate N.Y. 

We begin where they would: with the Thanksgiving Address. All meetings, gatherings, forums & ceremony would start with this prayer which brings everyone involved to the sacred space of gratitude these people recognized is the only place from which rational decision making occurs. They would take a half hour or more to say this prayer before any gathering. 

The Peacemaker Story from one or two thousand years ago is a 9 day story the Haudenosaunee would tell once a year. The Great Peacemaker came to the five tribes of upstate NY who were in terrible warfare. Over a 40 year period he brought them together and they evolved “The Great Law of Peace” as a system of governance.
